How do I know if my product is retail ready?
All distributed CD, DVD, and Vinyl products must meet the following requirements set by commercial and independent music stores before they will stock your title. Products must be professionally manufactured (ie: we will not accept duplicated CDRs), professionally over-wrapped and have a correct 12 digit UPC barcode. What is a UPC barcode? The Uniform Code Council provides the universal standard solution used on all products sold in commercial retail called a Barcode ID. For music products, a unique 12 digit UPC barcode image is required to be placed on the outside of each individual product. Labels and artists can register for their own unique barcode prefix at www.uc-council.org. What is a street date? The street date, also called release date, is the industry term used to identify when a release will be made available in retail stores.
