How do I get my music in retail?
As a distributor, it is our responsibility to educate retail stores about the music we solicit them to buy. While the "doors of opportunity" at retails are beginning to open wider for independent artists and labels, the market is still very competitive. L.G.N. can guarantee that your music will be stocked on commercial retail shelves if you are able to generate a response for your release. Commercial retail shelf space is very limited demonstrating that there is demand for your music gives retail buyers who know nothing about your sound, music style, or fan base, the confidence that your project will generate store revenue. In order to get your music CD or DVD on commercial retail shelves, you must first register your project with L.G.N. Listing your project in the L.G.N. Music Catalog is the first step in making your music available to commercial and independent music retail stores, digital downloading sites and on-demand storefronts. If there is a retail store that wants to stock your product, we'll get it there regardless of how many total units are ordered. I registered my project, what's next? Once you complete the following one step, (1) Submission process and have a strong marketing plan then L.G.N. will negotiate an exclusive deal with your company for national distribution then a L.G.N. Account Representative will contact you and assist in developing a presale campaign that starts 60-90 days prior to your scheduled retail street date. What is the presale period? Your retail release date will be scheduled after you have signed off on your coop planner. Once your coop planner as been signed off on then L.G.N. advertising dept. will start booking the ads. After the ads have been booked then L.G.N. will ship your product to the accounts weeks before your street date. |
